1) Tobacco users should receive advice to stop, and should be offered support to do so with referral to their local stop smoking service
2) Dental schools should ensure tobacco cessation training is available
-Ensuring all dental teams are competent to deliver VBA
3) Dental teams are routinely proactive in engaging users of tobacco
4) Commissioning bodies implement appropriate measures that support the above recommendations

Ask: Establish and record smoking status
Advise: Tell them benefits of quitting (safe money & better health)
Act: Offer help (refer to stop smoking service)
