What part of smoking induced the metabolism of other substances?
Tabacco, not nicotine!
It induces the liver enzyme CYP1A2 – increasing the rate of metabolism of other 1A2 substrates = more dose of Clozapine/Olanzapine are needed
How does nicotine affect metabolism?
Reduces insulin level, increasing blood glucose and insulin resistance
