SMALL GROUPS WERE JESUS’ METHOD Flashcards
Mark 2:1-12
“We have never seen anything like this!”
Luke 5:17-26
Jesus heals the paralytic… “Everyone was amazed and gave praise to God. They were filled with awe and said, “We have seen remarkable things today.”
Mark 3:13-14
Jesus called the Apostles to “be with Him that He might send them out to preach.” By being with Jesus, the Apostles learned to preach like Jesus.

Bible Talks are to be the spiritual family for each disciple.
John 3:22
When Jesus “spent time with His disciples (men and women), they would baptize.”
John 4:1-2
Jesus’ “Bible Talk” multiplied because [in time] “Jesus did not baptize, but His disciples [did].” Jesus’ method made each of His disciples fruitful!
Acts 19:1-10
Paul likewise imitated Jesus. Converted about “12 Men”
1) To baptize our own workers not to “expect” to be given “awesome workers.”
2) The value of Campus Ministry (Lecture Hall of Tyrannus) is the conversion of young, zealous idealists.
3) The impact of Paul’s Bible Talk was that in two years “all who lived in the Province of Asia heard the Word of the Lord.”
Revelation 1:4
Ephesus – the capital and largest city in the province of Asia – was the “Pillar Church” from which disciples were sent to plant the other “six churches” of Asia.
Matthew 24:9-14
Jesus prophesied the Apostles “will be hated by all nations… and the gospel preached in the whole world… and then the end would come.”
Hebrews 5:11-14
A mature disciple is a “teacher” – in our terms a Bible Talk Leader.
Luke 8:14-15,
we learn that to be “mature” and to have a “noble and good heart” is to be fruitful many times over – “produce a crop.” Therefore, our goal for every Christian in the SoldOut Movement is to become a Bible Talk Leader.
Matthew 16:13-17
Jesus often taught in the “Socratic Method” – through inquiry and discussions based on asking and answering questions.
Exodus 18:13-26
To meet the needs of every Israelite and to not wear out the leadership, Jethro advised Moses to select leaders of “thousands, hundreds, fifties and tens”
