Class 1: most potent-
Classes 3&4- most commonly prescribed potency by primary care
Class 7- least potent includes OTC hydrocortisone cream
We should not be prescribing Class ? sterroids to patients in primary care because ?

they can lead to serious adrenal suppression and other side effects that need to be handled by a specialist.
High potency steroids should only be used in severe conditions and small areas
low potency steroid-

arm/legs/trunk-
medium potency steroid- skin is thicker than face
No steroids
on genitalia
hands and feet toughest skin-

Streptococcus pyogenes (group A Streptococcus)
GAS causes infections such as strep throat and impetigo. These bacteria also cause approximately 11,000–24,000 cases of severe (invasive) GAS disease, such as necrotizing fasciitis, in the United States each year.
mupirocin ointment pregnancy category?
- Pregnancy category B but not sure if excreted in the breast milk so avoid in breast feeding moms just in case
