Slam Bidding Flashcards
1430 Key Cards - Definition
Key Cards is a slam bidding convention that gives partner combined count of aces and king of trump in your hand - it can also tell partner if you have queen of trump - initiated with 4NT bid by partner only after suit fit has been established (supported)
Gerber Slam Exploration
When partner believes partnership has 32-36 points and NT contract has been decided - 4 clubs initiates Gerber (partner is asking for aces) - 4D = 0 or 4 aces, 4H = 1 ace, 4S = 2 aces, 4NT = 3 aces - the initiating partner can also ask for kings by bidding 5 clubs - same sequence of responses for kings
Quantitative 4NT bidding
Initiated by responder when partner has opened with NT bid - responder has 17 points - so 4NT response says to opener, if you have 17 points then bid 6NT but if you don’t then pass
