Dermatosis:- disease of skin (not associated with inflammation)
Dermatitis:- inflammation of skin
Pustules Vs Papules
Pustules:- small bumps with white or yellow pus.
Papules: small solid bums <1cm
Rosacea presenation?
red face
pustules
telangesia
swelling (lymphedema) cheecks + under eyes
Rosacea complications?
Ocular:
conjunctivis, blephritis
Nose: bullous (blisters) - Rhinophyma
Livedo reticularis?
Cold environment –> marble pattern skin.
Rewarm, otherwise ?SLE
Chilblains - Cause?
Cold
Chilblaine Rx?
Re-warm
Rx: nefidipine
Chilblanes p/w:
Painful purple swelling finger, toes, ears
Macule?
Flat distinct discolouration of skin
maculopapular ?
Mixture of macules (flat distinct rash) + papules (small <1cm bumps), rash
