- skin appears moist and feels damp; this is due to the over - secretion of sweat

A
- skin appears swollen and puffy; this is because the tissues are retaining excess water

A
- Skin broncos cry as sebaceous and sudoriferous glands become less active
- skin loses its elasticity
- epidermis grows more slowly and the skin appears thinner
- broken capillaries appear, especially near cheek area
- facial contours slack
- underlaying bone structure becomes more obvious
- bloody circulation is poor
- patches of uneven pigmentation appear
