Actinic
Damage or condition by sun exposure
Alipidic
Lack of oil or (lipids) indicated by absence of visible pores
Contraindications
Factors that prohibit a treatment due to a condition. Treats can cause harmful or negative side effects to those who may have skin/medial conditions
Couperose Skin
Redness/swelling of microscopic blood vessel within the tissue to carry blood to veins
Dehydration
Lack of water
Fitzpatrick Scale
Scale used to measure the skin types ability to tolerate sun exposure
Occlusive
Occlusive products are thick and lay on top of the skin to reduce transepidermal water loss. Helps hold in moisture and protect the skins top barrier layer
Skin Types
Classification that describes a persons genetic skin type
T- Zone
Center area of face from forehead to nose and chin. (T)
