Dirty touching
after touching anything dirty candidate must:
remove gloves
dispose of gloves
washes hands
Water
check water temperature
THEN have client test it
put soap on wet washcloth (NOT in basin)
WASH–RINSE–DRY
Bath basin
empty-rinse-dry
place into dirty area
Dirty items
paper towels, used gloves, paper gown- waste container
bedpan, basin, used toothbrushes- dirty area
Cloth gowns, used linen, used linen protectors, clothing protectors- linen container
Urine and rise water containing urine- toilet, or bedside commode
Wash Hands
Whenever gloves are removed
before recording measurements
after completing skill
Leaving
Bed is in low position
client has call bell in reach
