- Remove the recoil rod assembly

- Change lever to Repetition
- Cock the weapon and tap forward assist
- Attempt to fire (it shouldn’t fire)
- Safety catch to Fire
- Operate the trigger, keeping it suppressed
- Cock the weapon and tap forward assist
- Release the trigger, listening for the click of the main sear
- Operate the trigger
- Change lever to Automatic
- Cock the weapon and tap forward assist (the hammer should stay to the rear)
- Operate the trigger, keeping it suppressed
- Cock the weapon and tap forward assist (the hammer should return to the front, hitting the firing pin)
- Release trigger and put safety catch to Safe
- Change lever to Repetition
- Close the dust cover
