Prepare the weapon for stripping

Strip the weapon

1. Remove the front and rear TMH pins

3. Remove the cocking handle and bolt carrier assembly
4. Open the top cover
5. Remove the piston, gas cylinder and gas plug

Strip the bolt carrier assembly

1. Remove the firing pin retaining pin
2. Remove the firing pin
3. Remove the cam stud
4. Remove the bolt

4. Attempt to fire (it shouldn’t fire)
5. Safety catch to Fire
6. Operate the trigger, keeping it suppressed
7. Cock the weapon and tap forward assist
8. Release the trigger, listening for the click of the main sear
9. Operate the trigger
10. Change lever to Automatic
11. Cock the weapon and tap forward assist (the hammer should stay to the rear)
12. Operate the trigger, keeping it suppressed
13. Cock the weapon and tap forward assist (the hammer should return to the front, hitting the firing pin)
14. Release trigger and put safety catch to Safe
15. Change lever to Repetition
16. Close the dust cover

2. Open pouch
3. Remove magazine, check that top round is secure
4. Load magazine to rifle, pushing to ensure it is securely fitted
5. Fasten pouch

   &laquo_space;There are rounds in the magazine but no rounds in the body or chamber&raquo_space;
5. Push on magazine to ensure it is firmly fitted
6. Operate the bolt release catch and tap forward assist
7. Continue firing

6. Clear obstruction with finger or tool

7. Check chamber

8. Replace magazine
9. Operate bolt release catch and tap forward assist
10. Continue firing

Outline Empty Magazine stoppage drill

2. Look at the position of the cocking handle

3. Inspect the weapon
4. Open magazine pouch
5. Remove empty magazine and place in pouch
6. Fit a new full magazine
7. Operate the bolt release catch and tap forward assist
8. Continue firing
