How do u provide privacy?
Pull curtain
Stand behind curtain after setting pt on bedpan and giving them tissue
How do you position pt after placing them on bedpan?
Raise head of bed to comfortable level and ensure that they (m or f) are sitting properly on bedpan, or that male pt understands urinal.

3 critical elements!
- Hold the catheter close to urethra and clean3-4 inches away from the urethra down the drainage tube. Use clean portion of washcloth for each stroke
- using a clean section of washcloth rinses using strokes away from the urethra
- do not pull on the tube at any time!
