9
Q

What’s in a project charter and what’s in one?

A

A document defining the project being undertaken. It is used to secure agreement from the project stakeholders as to what will be accomplished. It also defines the project cost, time-line and scope.

Q

What is a project scope?

A

Answers questions:

  • Process investigation start?
  • Process investigation stop?
  • What’s inside scope?
  • What’s outside scope?

14
Q

What scope creep?

A

Uncontrolled changes or continued growth of scope

Occurs when scope is not properly:

  • defined
  • documented
  • controlled

Q

What’s a SIPOC?

A
S = Supplier
I = Input
P = Process
O = Output
C = Customer

Best practice to complete

  • Start with process
  • Work left to input then supplier
  • Work right to output then customer

18
Q

What’s pie chart?

A

Divided into sectors as a sum of the whole

19
Q

?

A

?

20
Q

What’s a line chart

A

Visualize value over time

X = horizontal axis
Y = vertical axis
21
Q

A

?

22
Q

What’s bar chart?

A

Group data with rectangular bars; lengths proportional to values they represent

23
Q

?

A

?

24
Q

What’s the mean?

A

The average

add up data points divide by # of data points

25
Q

?

A

?

26
Q

What’s the median?

A

The middle number in a set of data

  • Organize the numbers from lowest to highest value
  • Start at the ends of the data and work towards the middle
    • If odd number of values, the middle number is the median
    • If even number of data values, take the average of the 2 middle values and divide by 2
27
Q

What’s the mode?

A

The number appearing most frequently in a data set

28
Q

What’s the range?

A

The lowest and highest number of a data set

29
Q

?

A

?

30
Q

What’s a control chart?

A

Used to study a process over time

Centerline = average
Upper Control Limit = UCL
Lower Control Limit = LCL

Data between the control limits would be considered common cause

31
Q

?

A

?

32
Q

Control Chart - How are centerline, UCL and LCL determined?

A

Centerline = average of all data points

UCL and LCL are +/- 3 sigma from the centerline

33
Q

?

A

?

34
Q

What’s a histogram?

A

Graphical representation of the distribution of numerical data

35
Q

Who sets the limits? Mean / UCL / LCL

A

Customer

36
Q

?

A

?

37
Q

What’s a scatter plot / diagram?

A

Used to determine if a correlation exists for data points

Positive = trends upward (low to high)
Negative = trends downward (high to low)
No Correlation = random data points
