what is Fletcher’s general view on situation ethics?
the most correct approach to anything would be the most loving one. Agape is the only love that applies in decision making.
define Agape
a love that is not sexual, and that is not concerned with your own self.
what is Benthams view of situation ethics?
if the overall consequence of a decision is good then the decision was moral
What is mills view on situation ethics?
if the decision has promoted happiness then it is deemed moral
what is Aquinas view on situation ethics?
he believes that our character does not wholly navigate the choices that we make
Fletcher’s work principles: Personalism
Legalsim does not care for people, he replaces legalism with the law of love.
Explain how Fletcher includes relativism in his view on situation ethics?
He believes that the situation should be taken into account which is how his theory has relativist aspects, however the absolutist inclusion of Agape gives it some structure.
