Kam - lust -sexual desire outside marriage Krodh - angry -all consuming self destructive angry Lobb - greed -can be an extension of haumai Moh - attachment -removing self from God putting things before God Ankar - pride - putting self before God
Significance of free will
Only humans have free will there fore only humans are able to choose to follow the divine will of God which will lead to reunification with God
Commitments a Sikh will make
Keep God in their mind at all times

Treat everyone as equal
The impact of hukam
Life is an opportunity to merge with God
Lasting happiness when we live in accordance with Gods will

How do Sikhs develop compassion and selflessness ?
By following the teachings of the gurus and living as a good Sikh the individual will learn compassion and humility
- working in a langar as it promotes compassion and selflessness
- follow the path of 10 gurus
- read and follow Guru Granth Sahib
- avoid isolation from society
- avoid the five evils
- family life
What are the 5 khans
Dharma khand -realm of duty
- reflect and listen to gods will
Gian khand - realm of spiritual knowledge
-aware of God on a higher level
Saram khand - realm of wisdom
- experiences the wonderment of creation
Karma khand - realm of grace
-individual has immense spiritual power which can’t be used as we don’t understand gods will
Sach khand - realm of truth
-truth and God the created are one the soul can be unified with God the individual is true happiness

Hukam
Is Gods will Sikhs believe that the universe and its history are an expression of hukam not simply a refer to what God wants an individual to do

The is no one ruler God is purely spiritual God is the creation God is truth God is the divine spirit God does not take human form
Separation from God
All humans have an immortal soul which is part of God and is on a journey to reunite with God lasting happiness is only found when the soul is reunited with God Sikhs believe that their goal in life is to become with God
