What is the importance of the Guru Granth Sahib?
The Sikh Holy Book is the Guru Granth Sahib which contains the wisdom of the 10 Gurus. It is an eternal, living Guru which is very important to Sikhs
What is Langar?
Sikhs make an offering of money or food for the gurdwara’s kitchen, which is known as the langar. Sewa is an important part of worship. Sikhs fulfill this duty when they help in the langar or look after the gurdwara, study the Guru Granth Sahib and teach it to others and give money or other help to people in need.
Who is Waheguru?
Waheguru is a term most often used in Sikhism to refer to God, the Supreme Being, or the creator of all. It means “Wonderful Teacher” in the Punjabi language, but in this case, is used to refer to God. Wahi means “wonderful” and “Guru” is a term denoting “teacher”.
What is Kesh?
Kesh is long, uncut hair which symbolizes holiness and strength.
