What is the form of the Amrit Sanskar ceremony?

A

1> Before the Sikh arrives at the Gurdwara, they will conduct Nam Simran in their home
2> At the Gurdwara, their hair will be washed by the Panj Piare and the Granthi
3> They will wear the 5 K’s (Panj Kakke) and will give their assent to the Sikh code of conduct. At this point one of the Panj Piare will utter a prayer for the preparation of the Amrit
4>Upon having the Amrit sprinkled on the eyes and hair five times, “Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh” is repeated. The leftovers of the Amrit is sipped by those being initiated.
5> They now recite the Mool Mantra and become one of the Khalsa

Extra info: Anyone seeking re-initiation must may be given a penalty after having resiled from his previous vows. Also, the ceremony is conducted in silence and in the presence of the Guru Granth Sahib
