- safety of road workers carrying out maintenance

- permanent warning sign (warn you of permanent hazard)
- temporary warning sign (warn you of temporary hazard)

- give you useful information
- for example the distance of the next town

All rectangle
How do information signs vary?
- they vary in size
- and color

- you may turn left
- but first give way to:
- pedestrians
- vehicles

- shows the:
- state highway number ( eg. 2)
- distance in kilometres to places listed

- shows directions to places at the next intersection

- shows the way to the NEAREST information centre

- shows state highway number (eg. 1)
- and direction to places listed
