- 41st president. President during a time of political change, he worked toward stabilizing United States military in the Middle East during the Persian gulf war.

- 43rd president. President during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks, and, after declaring a war on terrorism, issued an invasion in Afghanistan and later in Iraq. Laws included No Child left behind and Medicare benefits.
George W Bush 1946-
39th president. Created the Department of Education and the Department of Energy, also establish a national energy policy. He highlighted human rights and remains a strong advocate for peace.
James E Carter 1924-
42nd president. Called the “New Democrat”, he created the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA) with the support of his three predecessors. He was impeached for implications in a White House scandal, but was later acquitted.
Bill Clinton1946-
military commander for the North during the Civil War. Later elected 18th president of United States. Wrote magnanimous terms of surrender for the South in the Civil War

35th president. Effectively lead America through the Cuban missile crisis. He created the Peace Corps and was an advocate of the civil rights movement
John F. Kennedy 1917-1963
16th president. Led the US through the Civil War helping to abolish slavery. Assassinated just as the war ended
Abraham Lincoln 1809-1865
37th president. Only president to resign from office. He was facing impeachment because of the Watergate scandal. He believed that desegregation would improve education, and he improved the space shuttle program.
Richard Nixon 1913-1994
32nd president. Only president elected for more than two terms. He ably led the United States through World War II. Created the new deal coalition, which, among other things, effectively united labor unions and started Social Security
Franklin D Roosevelt 1882-1945
26th president. Previous employer and historian, he became leader of the progressive movement and the Republican Party. He negotiated the end of the Russo-Japanese war, for which he won the Nobel Peace Prize.
Theodore Roosevelt 1858-1919
first US president. Known as “the father of our country.” Had been the leader of the American army in the successful culmination of the American Revolutionary war against England. Only president elected unanimously.
