  1. Comment on events and / or chronology
  2. If breach of duty and causation are accepted then might make suggestions for resolving the claim
  3. Respond to any offer to settle

How quickly must a defendant issue a defence once the Claim Form or Particulars of Claim have been served?

A

They must file a defence within 14 days of receipt of the Particulars of Claim OR if the defendant has filed an acknowledgement of service, within 28 days after the service of the particulars of claim.

Time for acknowledgement of service is 14 days.
