What is the short version of the birth of The Siena Hotel.
The original owners, The Longiottis, honeymooned in Siena Italy. They fell in love with the culture in Siena and wanted to create their own little Siena back home. So naturally, they sketched their original idea for the hotel on an airplane beverage napkin on their flight home and the rest is history.
What is Il Palio Restaurant named after?
The Siena horse races that occur twice every year in July and August in the cobblestone city center, Piazza del Compo, where each of the 17 Contradas of Siena race their horse with jockey under their flag.
What are Contradas?
They are the 17 neighborhoods of Siena, Italy.
Each Contrada has a flag with specific colors and animals to represent them. The Siena Hotel hangs these flags under the awning in the carport.

Vittoria, the upstairs conference room named after The Longiottis’ daughter.

Explain the shuttle service.
The shuttle is booked by appointment, it can carry up to 11 passengers with in 5 miles of the hotel and only in Chapel Hill/Carborro city limits. The exception to this rule is for AICPA guests, we take them to their Durham office. UNC football game weekends have a specific drop off location(Country Club and Raleigh Street). We do not drop off at the football stadium or the Dean Dome on game days.

2nd floor where room 213 would be, guest will need their room key to access it. Fitness center includes: treadmills and free-weights
Explain the laundry service available to our guests.
Same day service is available through a 3rd party company. The laundry bag must be dropped off with the front desk by/before 7am. The laundry will return to the hotel in the evening, charges will be posted to the guests room accordingly and the laundry will be delivered to their room unless they have a privacy sign hanging.
