ACEI
Increasing Cr (35% above baseline is acceptable), Hyperkalemia, Angioedema (more frequent in AA), cough (dry)
ARB
Increasing SCr (35% above baseline is acceptable), hyperkalemia, angioedema (less than with ACEIs)
Direct Renin Inhibitors
Angioedema, Hyperkalemia (if used with ACEI)
Beta Blockers
Bradycardia, heart block, bronchospastic disease, exercise intolerance, sexual dysfunction, fatigue
Thiazides
Electrolyte abnormalities (hypokalemia, hyponatremia), dehydration, hyperuricemia, fatigue!
Loops
Electrolyte abnormalities (hypokalemia, hyponatremia, hypomagnesemia), dehydration
K sparing
Hyperlakemia
Dihydropyridine CCBs
Peripheral edema, syncope
Non-DHP CCBs
Bradycardia, heart block, constipation!!!!, fatigue and exercise intolerence
Alpha 1 blockers
Dizziness and orthostatic hypotension, rebound hypotension
Aldosterone Receptor blockers
Hyperkalemia, gynecomastia (spironolactone)
Alpha 2-agonists
Dizziness, orthostatic hypotension, drowsiness, dry mouth
Hydralazine
Tachycardia (use w/ b-blocker), fluid retention, drug induced lupus like syndrome
Minoxidil
Fluid retention, pericardial effusion, hirsutism
