A

BW: SJS/TEN, valproic acid will increase lamotrigine levels
SE: alopecia (selenium and zinc), somnolence, tremor, diplopia, blurred vision

decreased concentrations with CYP inducers: Carbamazepine, Phenytoin, Phenobarbital, Rifampin

A

Warning: Psych reactions, SJS, increase BP

SE: irritability, dizziness, weakness

NO DRUG INTERACTIONS
CrCl < 80: decrease dose

IV to PO 1:1

A

Warning: metabolic acidosis, oligohidrosis, nephrolithiasis, glaucoma, hyperammonemia, cisual problems, FETAL harm

SE: somnolence, WEIGHT LOSS, anorexia, memory/attention loss

Monitor: IOP, electrolytes (bicarb)

BW: hepatic failure, fetal harm (neural tube defects and decreased IQ score)

CI: hepatic disease

Warning: hyperammonia (carnitine), thrombocytopenia,

SE: alopecia (Selenium and Zinc), weight GAIN, PCOS, edema

increases the level of lamotrigine

A

BW: SJS/TEN - HLA-B*1502 test in Asian decent, aplastic anemia, agranulocytosis

CI: myelosuppression, MAO inhibitors, NNRTI

Warning: SIADH - hyponatremia, hypothyroidism, FETAL HARM

AUTOINDUCER: range 4-12 mcg/mL

Toxicity: nystagmus, ataxia, diplopia/blurred vision, confusion

Chronic: Gingival hyperplasia, hair growth, hepatotoxicity, peripheral neuropathy, increased BP
