General Principles of Sickle-cell Mx

A

Pain relief - opiates
rehydration
Oxygen
Antibiotics (if infection)
Blood transfusion (indications: severe/symptomatic anaemia, pregnancy, pre-op)
Exchange transfusion (indications: acute thrombotic crisis)
