A

Stimulates water reabsorption (in the collecting duct)

What are the clinical/biochemical features of SIADH?

A
  • Symptoms are nonspecific

- Main biochemical finding is hyponatraemia, which may present with reduced consciousness/seizures if severe

Describe the management of SIADH

A
  • Treat underlying cause
  • 1st line: fluid restriction
  • 2nd line: tolvaptan (specialist use only)

A

SIADH:

  • Small cell lung cancer
  • Infection
  • Abscess
  • Drugs, e.g. carbamazepine, SSRIs
