When will ‘show me’ questions be carried out during the driving test?
The tester will ask you to carry out an action or multiple actions whilst your driving (when you’ve started your test)
When will ‘tell me’ questions be asked during the during test?
Tell me questions are when the tester will ask you to explain verbally how you would do something at the start of your driving test before you actually begin driving.

Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. Breaks should be tested as you set off. If the vercalee pulls to one side then there is an issue with the breaks.

You would find the information concerning tyre pressure in the Manufacturers guide and should use a reliable pressure gauge and check/adjust pressure when the tyres are cold.

The head restraint should be adjusted so the rigid part of the restraint is at least as high as the eyes or top of the ears and as close top the back of the head as comfortable.

There should be no cuts or bulges on the tyres. 1.6mm of tread depth across the central three quarters of the breadth of the tyres and around the entire cincumfrance of the tyre.

I would operate the switch and turn on the ignition if its necessary and then walk around the vehicle too double check this has worked.

Firstly I would put gentle pressure on the steering wheel while the engine is starting which should result in a slight but noticeable movement as the system begins to operate.
Alternatively, I would turn the steering wheel just after moving ogg which will give an immediate indication that the power assistance is working as it should.

I would operate the switch for the rear fog lights and check the warning light is on. I would use these lights when in foggy or unclear conditions.

I would operate the main beam headlights and check with main beam warning light

I would identify the dipstick/pol level indicator and check that the oil level is between the minimum and maximum markers and not below it’

I would identify the high and low level markings on the header tank where fitted or radiator filler cap and if it is below a certain level I would top it up with coolant.
