how do you open the bonnet (4)
- pull the latch on the passenger side
- pull the latch at the bonnet
- hold and lift the bonnet
- put the bonnet stay into the hole & make sure it’s secure
how do you make sure the car has enough oil (6)
- open bonnet
- pull the dipstick out
- wipe the oil off with a cloth
- put back in
- take out
- oil should be between minimum and maximum
how do you make sure the car has sufficient engine coolant (3)
- open bonnet
- check between the side for max and min markings
- only open when its cold to top it up
how do you check you have sufficient brake fluid (2)
- open bonnet
- check level between maximum and minimum

- lift slightly
- pull bonnet stay and push into clip
- lower the bonnet
how do you check brakes are working (3)
- drive forward slowly
- press footbrake
- shouldn’t feel spongy or slack or pull to one side
how do you check tyre pressure (2)
- check car manual or sticker on door pillow
- use air pressure guage
how do you check tyre tread depth (3)
- with a tread depth gauge.
- should be no more than 1.6mm
- should be no cuts or bulges on the outside
how do you make sure head restraint is well adjusted
Ridgid part as high as eye or top of ears and close to head as possible
how do you check headlights and tail lights are working
- turn ignition on
- switch on lights
- walk around car
how dop you tell there is a problem with abs
warning light turns on at the dashboard

- press hazards
- walk around car

- press the footbrake
- look for reflections or ask someone to check

- give steering pressure as you start the engine slight pressure shows it is working
- as you move off it should be lighter

- when visibility is less than 100m
- turn on ignition
- dipped headlights and press the button
- warning light will be on dashboard
