Tell me how you’d check that the brakes are working before starting a journey.
Brakes should not feel spongy or slack. Brakes should be tested as you set off. The vehicle should not pull to one side.
Tell me where you’d find the information for the recommended tyre pressures for this car AND how tyre pressure should be checked.
Manufacturers guide, use a reliable pressure gauge, check and adjust pressures when tyres are cold, don’t forget a spare tyre, remember to refit valve caps.
Tell me how you would make sure your head restraint is correctly adjusted so it provides the best protection in the event of a crash.
Ears and eyes should be in line with the central part of the restraint.
Tell me how you’d check the tyres to ensure that they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road.
1.6 mm of tread depth across 3/4 of the width, there should be no cuts, bulges or other damage to the wall of the tyre.

With the engine off, the steering wheel is hard to move. Switch on the engine and the wheel should now move easily.

Left hand indicator, dipped headlights on outer twister and then inner twister set to the back. Forward if needed forward. Should be used when visibility is less than 100 meters.

Left-hand indicator, dipped headlights on outer twister and pull towards you to change between the two. When full beam is on there will be an indication on dashboard with a blue lights icon.
How do you open the bonnet?
There is a latch inside the passenger door, and then a latch under the bonnet door that you need to pull to open the bonnet. Then you need to lift the stick and put the yellow end into a hole at the top.
Open the bonnet and tell me how you’d check that the engine has sufficient oil.
Middle to left of the bonnet with the yellow top, check the oil level with dipstick making sure the level is between the min and max levels. If oil needs filling, fill it in the black box with big circular twisty lid.

Pull the right indicator towards you.

On the left-hand indicator, turn the twisty knob three times towards you.

The rectangular demister button next to the hazard lights.
When it’s safe to do so, can you show me how you’d demist the front windscreen?
The more circular demister button, that is not directly next to the hazard lights.
