Point to dipstick
Would take out the dipstick, wipe it with a cloth and then put it back in, take it out again and then check the oil level against the maximum and minimum markers

Recommended tyre pressures in car manufacturer’s guide, Use a reliable pressure gauge to check and adjust the tyre pressures when the tyres are cold. Would also check the spare tyre and make sure to refit the valve caps.

How would you check tyres to ensure they have sufficient tread depth and that their general condition is safe to use on the road
Tyres should have no cuts or bulges
There should be 1.6mm of tread depth across the central 3/4 of the breadth of the tyre and around the whole outer circumference of the tyre

How would you ensure head rest is correctly adjusted
Should be adjusted so that the rigid part is at least as high as the eyes or top of the ears, and is as close to the back of the head as is comfortable

ABS warning light should illuminate if there is a fault

How would you check that power assisted steering is working before starting a journey
If steering feels heavy there may be a problem with it
Would put gentle pressure on the steering wheel while i start the engine and it should result in a slight but noticeable movement as the system begins to operate
Or can move the steering wheel slightly as you set off and if it feels heavy it may have failed

Walk around the vehicle and check the headlights and tail lights are on
