Check for cuts, bulges, anything stuck in the tread, tread depth legal min of 1.6mm / across middle 75%

Press pedal, good resistance, not soft, spongy or slack. Check as you move off, should not pull to one side

Ignition on, press brake pedal (2 person job, or reflective surface e.g. glass)

Demonstrate, ignition on, turn to dipped headlights and walk around to check.
