Shoulder ST Flashcards
SC/AC Joint Play
Pain, hypermobility, hypomobility
hyper - laxity/sprain
hypo - joint adhesions
GH Joint Play
Inferior: inferior joint capsule, superior GH ligament, CH ligament
Anterior: CH ligament, GH ligaments, anterior joint capsule, labral tear
Posterior: Posterior joint capsule, labral tear
AC Traction
diagnose AC instability
sprain of the AC or costclavicular ligaments
AC Compression Test
stress the coracoclavicular ligament
Damage to AC ligament
Apprehension Test
compromised anterior capsule, GH ligament, and glenoid labrum –>allows for dislocation
rotator cuff pathology
deep posterior pn – internal impingement
Relocation and Anterior Release Tests
tests for Anterior GH Laxity
+ test = decrease in pn with pressure
Relocation test: anterior pn - anterior laxity/labrum
posterior pn - posterior laxity/labrum
Anterior release: Apprehension or pn when pressure removed
Posterior Apprehension Test
Laxity in the posterior GH capsule, torn posterior labrum
Jerk Test
+ test - clunk
posteriorinferior labral tear
Sulcus Sign
GH Laxity
laxity of superior GH ligament
Neer Test
Rotator Cuff (*supraspinatus) or long head of the biceps (between greater tubercle and inferior accordion process)
The Kennedy Hawkins Shoulder Test
Rotator Cuff (*Supraspinatus) or long head of biceps (between greater tubercle and inferior accordion process)
Empty Can or Full can
Supraspintus
weakness and pain - partial thickness tear
Yergason’s
tear laxity of humeral ligament - popping snapping of bicipital groove
bicipital tendinopathy - pain with no popping
Speed’s Test
Biceps Brachii Tendinopathy. inflammation of biceps tendon, pn at superior shoulder - SLAP lesion
O’Brien’s Test (Active Compression Test)
SLap lesion, AC joint pathology
