What is impingement

A

Pinching/rubbing and wearing away. Cause- overuse from repetitive shoulder activities. will tear if nothing is done. Supraspinatus is commonly impinged

Q

what is glenohumeral instability

A

inability to maintain the humeral head in the glenoid cavity. Cause- shoulder labrum is torn off of the glenoid fossa by trauma or repetitive motion. There is too much movement then ligaments are stretched and can’t go back. Leads to arthritis treatment- strengthen muscles around joint

Q

A

occurs when blood vessels or nerves between clavicle and first rib are compressed or pinched. Arm/hand go numb and feel heavy. Cause- physical trauma such as car accident or repetitive sports injuries typically overhead sports. Treatment is stretches or surgery
