Labral tear - slap lesion
A
Type 1 - labrum has degenerated but still attached Type 2 (most common) - GL detached completely from antero/postero superior portion. Labrum lifted here by long biceps tendon, tendon attachment unstable Type 3 - free superior labrum displaced into joint (bucket handle), labral attachment to glenoid rim & biceps tendon remains intact Type 4 - free superior labrum displaced into joint, long head of biceps tendon is partially ruptured
Trauma related, repetitive overhead throwing
Often occurs with rotator cuff injuries
S & S - non-specific shoulder pain with overhead or cross body activities, popping, clicking or catching at shoulder
Speeds Test & Neers, anterior slide test
Active compression test & Hawkins test - most specific

Hill-Sachs lesion
A
depression in postero-lateral head of humerus when the shoulder is dislocated anteriorly
Occurs in 35-40% of ant. dislocations & up to 80% of recurrent dislocations
