Shoulder Complex II Flashcards
What are the branches of the Axillary Artery?
- Superior Thoracic Artery
- Thoraco-acromial Artery
- Lateral Thoracic Artery
- Subscapular Artery
- Anterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
- Posterior Circumflex Humeral Artery
What are the four branches of the Thoraco-Acromial Artery?
- Pectoral branch
- Acromial branch
- Clavicular branch
- Deltoid branch
What two arteries come off of the Subscapular Artery?
- Circumflex scapular Artery
- Thoracodorsal Artery
What are the boundaries of the triangular space?
Superior: Teres Minor
Inferior: Teres Major
Lateral: Triceps brachii
What are the boundaries of the quadrangular space?
Superior: Teres Minor
Inferior: Teres Major
Medial: Triceps brachii
Lateral: Surgical neck of the humerus
What are the boundaries of the triangular interval?
Superior: Teres Major
Medial: Triceps brachii
Lateral: Humerus
What are the contents of the triangular space?
The circumflex scapular artery (and vein)
What are the contents of the quadrangular space?
The Axillary nerve and the Posterior Circumflex Humeral artery
What are the contents of the triangular interval?
The radial nerve and the Profunda brachii artery
What travels along the medial border of the scapula?
The dorsal scapular artery and nerve
What travels through the Suprascapular (or just scapular) notch?
The Suprascapular artery and nerve
What structures pass through the clavipectoral fascia?
The clavipectoral fascia is pierced by the thoraco-acromial trunk (axillary artery branch), the lateral pectoral nerve, and the cephalic vein.
What is the superficial venous drainage of the shoulder complex?
The cephalic and basilic veins. They are joined at the elbow by the median cubital vein, and both join into the axillary vein.
