Actions of the Serratus Anterior?
Abduct & depress scap, hold scap against rib cage
What are the attachments of the serratus anterior?
Anterior surface of the medial border of the scap, upper 8 or 9 ribs
What are the 3 sections of the Pec Major?
Clavicular, Sternal, Costal.
What are the attachments of the Pec Major?
Clavicle, Sternum, costal cartilage of ribs 1-6, Crest Of The Greater Tubercle of Humerus
What are the actions of the Pec Major?
What do the upper fibers do?
What do the lower fibers do?
Adduct, medially rotate humerus
Upper fibers: flex, horizontal adduction humerus
Lower fibers: extend humerus
Where is the pec minor located?
Deep to the pec major
What symptoms can pec minor cause?
Forced thoracic outlet syndrome - heart attack like symptoms
Where does the pec minor attatch?
Ribs 3-5, coracoid process.
Actions of Pec Minor?
Depress & abduct scapula, with aerobic exercise helps elevate rib cage into inhalation
Where is the subclavius located?
Under the clavicle
What are the attachments of the subclavius?
1st rib, inferior middle 1/3 of clavicle
Action of subclavius?
Depress clavicle, elevate 1st rib, stabilize s/c jt
Attachments of biceps brachii
Short: coracoid process
Long: supraglenoid tubercle of scapula
Tuberosity of radius & aponeurosis of biceps brachii
Actions of biceps
Flex shoulder, flex elbow & Supinate Forearm
What are the 3 things that attach to the coracoid process?
Bicep, pec minor, coracobrachialis
