shoulder Flashcards
shoulder girdle consists of
clavicle and scapula
the manubrium of sternum connects to the clavicle by the __________ joint
strernoclavicular joint
the acromial extermity (lateral end) of the clavicle connects with acromion on scapula by ________ joint
acromioclavicular joint
what the respiration for AP shoulder
just go ahead and breathe slow for me will i guide u throught out the hand rotations
demonstrate AP shoulder
once i have felt for the inferior scalupa i will place it center of ir and cr entering 1 inch inferior to coracoid process - place the arm falling to the side and explain the 3 rotations and tell her to breather slowly throught the exposures (internal, neutral, external)
whats the collimation / IR for AP shoulder
set it 10x12
FOR WHAT AP SHOULDER VIEW ROTATION (I,N,E)
you should be viewing
-lesser tubercle seen in profile and pointing medially
-outline of greater tubercle superimposing humeral head
-greater amount of humeral overlap of the glenoid cavity than in external and neutral positions
INTERNAL
FOR WHAT VIEW
is the LESSER TUBERCEL SEEN IN PROFILE
and outline of greater tubercle superimposing humeral head
AP PROJECTION IN INTERNAL ROTATION
FOR WHAT AP SHOULDER VIEW ROTATION (I,N,E)
you should be viewing
-humeral head in profile
-greater tubercle in profile on lateral aspect of the humerus.
-scapulahumeral joint visualized with slight overlap of humeral head on glenoid cavity.
-outine of lesser tubercle between the humeral head and greater tubercle
AP Projection in EXTERNAL ROTATION
FOR WHAT VIEW is
HUMERAL HEAD IN PROFILE
and greater tubercle in profile
AP PROJECTION IN EXTERNAL ROTATION
FOR WHAT AP SHOULDER VIEW ROTATION (I,N,E)
you should be viewing
-greater tubercle partially superimposing humeral head.
-Humeral head should be seen in partial profile
-slight overlap of the humeral head and glenoid should be seen.
AP PROJECTION NEUTRAL POSITION
FOR WHAT VIEW IS
HUMERAL HEAD SHOULD BE SEEN IN PARTIAL PROFILE
greater tubercle partially superimposing humeral head
AP projection neutral
demonstrate PA oblique scapular y
patient should be facing IR plate at 45 degrees (make sure lead plate is shifted) make sure to feel for inferior scapula and direct your hand to center of bucky
collimation for y scapula
10x12 0 make sure cr is
WHAT PROJECTION ARE U VIEWING WHEN
-humeral head & glenoid cavity superimposed
-humeral shaft and scapular body superimposed
-acromion projected laterally and free of superimposition
-scapula in lateral profile w/ lateral and vertbal borders superimposed
PA OBLIQUE SCAPULAR Y
