Donkeys, mules, camels, horses, dogs (pulling sleds), carrier pigeons, elephants.
Give two reasons why some religious people do not eat meat (2)
Religious teachings encourage them not too e.g. 1st precept, ahimsa, it’s cruel, not good stewardship, because they are vegetarian/vegan.
Give two reasons why some animals are kept in zoo’s (2)
So they can be seen by the public/entertainment/education/preserve species/breeding programmes/help understand them/because they are dangerous/revue them.
Give two ways in which humans use animals (2)
Research, entertainment, education, companionship, testing, eating, clothing, food, scientific experiments/breakthroughs, hunting, poaching, sport.
Give two reasons some people choose to become vegetarian (2)
Health, upbringing, religion, concerns about farming methods, don’t like the taste of meat, concerns for animal rights.

It is illegal and causes suffering to a living thing.
Buddhists - oppose poor treatment of animals. All life is precious. Life is as precious to an animal as it is to a human. All forms of life are dependent on each other, by caring for other creatures human life will be improved. Compassion and loving kindness should be shown.
Christianity - Christians believe animals and birds are valuable. God gave humans stewardship over all his creation. Humans have a duty to protect his creation. Some could argue they are justified as God told humans to bring animals under his control (dominion).
