Tolerances

A

Rotate and lift off at the recommended airspeed and accelerate to the recommended obstacle clearance airspeed or VX, ±5 knots. Establish a pitch attitude that will maintain the recommended obstacle clearance airspeed or VX, ±5 knots until the obstacle is cleared or until the airplane is 50 feet above the surface.

Principles & Procedures

A

Short field takeoffs used when airplane operated out of area with short runway or area restricted by obstructions. Operate airplane at limit of its takeoff performance abilities. Shortest ground roll and steepest angle of climb. Brake on runway - full power - release - lift off - rotate - pitch for Vx - 50 ft retract flaps if applicable - then speed to Vy
