Group Emotion
The state that arises from the combination of its bottom-up components (moods of group members); and it’s top-down components (overall mood of work the company)
Double-loop learning
Involves a reciprocal interchange between two parties (a leader and his team)
Ex. Leaders help their teams learn, and teams help their leaders learn
Hindsight Bias
“I knew it all along”
Tendency for people o be remarkably adept at inferring a process once the outcome is known, but unable to predict outcomes when the processes and precipitating events are unknown
Tendency for people to be good at guessing processes when the outcome is already known, but doesn’t do a good job at guessing processes when the outcomes are not known.
Behavioral Entertainment
Processes whereby a person adjusts or modifies to coordinate or synchronize with another person’s behavior

The ability to recognize diverse emotions in a team

Vicarious Affect
A person’s emotions are induced or caused by another person’s emotions
Convergent Thinking
A type of thinking that proceeds toward a single answer.
Creative Realism
Ideas that are highly imaginative, and highly connected to current structures and knowledge
Production Blocking
Occurs when group members cannot express their ideas because others are presenting their ideas.
Fundamental Attribution Error
Correspondence bias
When people see behavior of others to underlying dispositions and discount the role of situational factors
Focus more on the person than the situation
Indirect Influence
When group members are with the majority opinion, but privately agree with the minority viewpoint
Common-bond Groups
The people who are just as attached to particular members of the group as to to the group itself
Transformational Leadership
Moving of followers beyond their self-interest for the good of the team, organization, or society.
Group Cohesiveness
The emotional attraction among group members.
