The natural way of passing knowledge, skills and experience to others to develop them in their role

Coaching is about change and transformation- about the ability to alter behaviours to grow, and to generate new and successful actions.
Q2) Difference between coaching and mentoring
- A mentor is an expert in their field
- A mentor is more career focused in terms of career advancement.
- A mentor freely gives advice and opinions.
- mentors invent a future based on the expertise and wisdom of another, whereas coaching is about inventing a future from the individuals own possibilities
Q1) Why have a mentor
To support the mentee to develop their knowledge and skills and expertise to perform their role
Q4) Why is it important to regularly review the plan?
To monitor how they are developing their knowledge, skills and expertise to perform their role in the organisation, to evaluate their performance and set new goals for further development.
Q6) 2 different mentoring techniques
The grow model
-Goal-setting a target/ defining what you want to achieve,reality- exploring the current situation, relevant history and future trends/realistic and achievable, options- coming up with new ideas for reaching the goal/ what route to take, way forward-deciding on a concrete plan of action/ how they want to achieve the goal.
3 step coaching- who? Get to know the individual, find out about their skills/values/beliefs and aspirations. What? Clarify the goals do they suit the person. How? Strategies to get there, how to close the gap.
