shock Flashcards
what are the four causes of cardiogenic shock
DCM, HCM, AV valve regurg, brady or tachycardia
treatment for hypovolemic shock
10-20 ml/kg bolus of isotonic saline - LRS.
how do we assess perfusion
HR, pulses, CRT, temp, mentation, mm color
signs of a cat in shock
bradycardia, hypothermia, inc RR, weird CRT
signs of shock in a dog
GIT is the shock organ. Ileus, hematochezia
most common type of shokc
hypovolemia
causes of distributive shock
anaphylactsis, septic, neurgenic, catecholamine/pheo
<1sec CRT, injected mm, tachycardia, bounding pulses
distributive shock
weak pulses, prolonged CRT, tachycardia
hypovolemic shock
causes of obstructive shock
cardiac tamponade, GDV, obstruction
respiratory distress, crackles in the lungs, ascites, effusion, heart murmur
cardiogenic shock
treatment for cardiogenic shock
O2, decrease stress, diuretics, correct arrhythmias- atropine, lidocaine, etc
treatment for obstructive shock
tap it, trocharize it
treatment for distributive shock
vasopressors- norepi/epi
+- antibiotics or antihistamines for sepsis or anaphylaxsis
what is the MOA of distributive shock
vascular tone and increased permiability causing relative hypovolemia
what is a sign of decompensation
low blood pressure
general shock treatment for hypovolemia
flow by O2, IV access and fluid bolus of 10-20 ml/kg isotonic
