Bai Hu Jia Ren Shen Tang presentation:
primary reason to use:
specific Ren Shen substitutions:

- repeated episodes of sweating, feeling listless and dispirited, Bai Hu Tang pres + SEVERE THIRST.
- the absence of high temperature or profuse sweating BUT presence of chronic illness w THIRST as chief complaint.
- presence of the Bai Hu Tang pres, but w p a strong pulse bc the patient’s physical condition is compromised.
Use after profuse sweating from Gui Zhi Tang - for replenishing fluids.
substitutions: Ren Shen for sweating, listless spirit, def forceless pulse.
Xi Yang Shen for Dry Mouth and Tongue.
Dang Shen for epigastric focal distention and poor appetite.
Bei Sha Shen for hacking cough or constipation.

- Gypsum presentation + High Fever
- Gypsum pres + irritability, restlessness, muddled consciousness
- Gypsum pres + severe thirst
tongues is dry w NO moisture
Do not use if there is LACK of thirst or sweat and a sinking or wiry or thin pulse.
Used for diseases of Eye, Nose, Mouth, Skin (febrile diseases, infections hemorrhagic fever, flu w hight fever, rheumatic fever)

- fever w o chills, and thirst.
- joint pain, aversion to wind, sweat that comes out in patches but is ineffective in resolving the problem.
- dark red tongue body.
Nausea and Body aches.
rheumatic fever, rheumatoid arthritis, acute febrile illness

- feverish body, profuse sweating, thirst. Maybe coughing or dry heaves.
- listless and dispirited, emaciated, haggard.
- red tongue w sparse coat. tongue is dry. pulse is def and fast.
Bai Hu Tang Jia Ren Shen Tang plus Dan Zhu Ye and Mai Men Dong.
Mai Men Dong minus da zao plus Shi Gao and Dan Zhu Yu.
For damage to ST Yin w lingering heat in ST channel.
Post chemo Tx w dry mouth, listless and dispirited.
