loose stools or diarrhea

weakness of the extremities
weight loss
distention and a stifling sensation in the chest and epigastrium
pallid and wan complexion
may also be vomiting
T: pale, white coat
P: thin, moderate or deficient, moderate
Diagnostic Pattern
Spleen qi deficiency leading to internally-generated dampness.

tonifies Spleen, supports chief herbs
chăo biăn dòu + lián zĭ
strengthen the Spleen, stop diarrhea
yì yĭ rén
strengthens the Spleen and leaches out dampness
shā rén
transforms dampness and promotes the movement of qi (tonify without causing stagnation)
chăo jié gĕng
unblocks the flow of Lung qi
by disseminating Lung qi, helps spread nourishment throughout the body
ascending nature helps treat diarrhea
guides actions of other herbs into the Lungs (prevents development of Lung deficiency, which is common sequela of Spleen deficiency)
Cautions and Contraindications
Use with caution, and then only after significant modification, in cases with concurrent heat from yin deficiency.
