Pt with pulsatile abdominal mass, imaging?
Obvious AAA
Go straight to CT
Carotid artery stenosis treatment
SSx: >50% stenosis -surgery
Assx: medical management unless >60% stenosis
Malignant Pleural effusion
Friction rub, decreased breath sounds, hx cancer
Pain control, palliative
Lung cancer in a non smoker
Adenocarcinoma
Lung cancer with peripheral cavitation
Large cell carcinoma
Needs surgery because non responsive to chemo
Screening for lung cancer
55-80 with 30+ pack year hx (current smoker or quit <15 yrs ago)
Low dose CT scan
Work up for solitary pulmonary nodule
Look at prior imaging xray
Biopsy if >2cm
Atrial myxoma
Murmur disappears with position change
Tx: resection
Complications: intracranial aneurysm or ischemia, chunks of tumor can break off and embolize
Treatment for diffuse esophageal spasm

Abrupt onset tachycardia that resolves with cold water immersion
