What does SHARP stand for?
Sexual harassment/assault response and prevention
What is sexual Harassment?
Sexual harassment is conduct that involves unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors, and deliberate or repeated offensive comments or gestures of a sexual nature. It is so severe or pervasive that a reasonable person would perceive, and the victim does perceive the environment as hostile or offensive
What is sexual assault?
Sexual assault is intenional sexual contact characterized by the use of force, threats, intimidation, or abuse of authority or when the victim or when the victim does not or cannot consent.
What are the two types of sexual harassment and what are the differences between the two?
Quid pro quo and hostile environment.
>Quid Pro Quo: Is the instance when the offender places conditions of some sort over a persons career or terms of employment in return for sexual favors.
>Hostile Environment: is when the victim is subject to unwanted/unsolicited comments and / or conduct that is sexual in nature.
What are different categories of sexual Harassment and what are the differences between them?
> verbal: Verbal sexual harassment can be any sexual comments, sound, or profanity.
nonverbal: Nonverbal sexul harassment is using physical conduct, such as bodily gestures in a suggestive manner.
Physical contact: Physical contact is any form of physical contact that is unwanted and unsolicited. Physical contac can also be reported as sexual assault.
