Exciting(or inciting) force
Something happens that starts the action of the play moving, usually in the first act
Climax(or turning point)
The protagonist reaches the peak of his power and a distinct change occurs on him as in the direction of the action.
Tragedy
A serious play in which protagonist fails to achieve his goals or is so overcome by the forces that are against him
Tragic hero
An essentially good person who, through some weakness or character or error in judgement beings doom upon himself
Tragic flaw
Weakness in his character
Dialogue
The conversation between characters in the work of literature
Aside
A brief comment a character makes to reveal his or her thoughts to the audience, unheard by other character
Soliloquy
A lengthy speech in which character usually alone on stage express his or her thoughts to the audience
Monologue
Like a soliloquy, Addressed to the characters on stage not to the audience
Conflict
The struggle between two forces
External conflict
Struggle between two characters or groups
Internal conflict
A struggle within a character
Suspense
A feeling of tension about how things are going to turn out
Blank verse
Unrhymed poetry written in iambic pentameter
Iambic
An unaffected syllable is followed by an accented one
Pentameter
There are five feet per line
