How does affinity chromatography work?
A
A ligand molecule with a high binding affinity for the protein to be purified is covalently attached to beads. Protein mixture passes through the column of beads, and the proteins of interest are ‘affinity-purified’.

Has a high affinity for antibodies so it easier to immobile the antibody onto the beads with protein G
