Why did sexual reproduction evolve?
A
It is inefficient for giving genes on to next generation, in comparison to asexual reproduction, but it ensures a faster rate of evolution, leading to faster adaption, more genetic diversity. (Mixing of genomes leads to the best possible allele being fixed faster)
