SECTION 1 SEXUAL OFFENCES (AMENDMENT) ACT 1992
Lifetime anonymity for victims of sexual offences from time of allegation
Over 16’s can waive anonymity, consent must be in writing and not interfere with peace and comfort
Anonymity remains even if complaint withdrawn
Also applies to victims/alleged victims of ‘human trafficking for exploitation’ under Section 2 Modern Slavery Act 2015
SECTION 2 MODERN SLAVERY ACT 2015
Lifetime anonymity for victims of human trafficking/exploitation from time of allegation
Which could include work in domestic servitude, or for sexual exploitation, including prostitution
FEMALE GENITAL MUTILATION ACT 2003
Automatically bans any publication from identifying a person as being a victim/alleged victim of an offence of FGM
Or of the offence of failing to protect a girl from the risk of FGM
Victim can waive their anonymity if they do so in writing, are over 16 and no interference in peace and comfort
SCHEDULE 6A ANTI-SOCIAL BEHAVIOUR, CRIME AND POLICE ACT 2014
Anonymity applies in respect of an alleged or actual attempt to commit a forced marriage offence
And in respect of allegations of or actual conspiracy, aiding, abetting, counselling, procuring, encouragement or assistance in respect of such an offence
