What does the presence of SRY protein cause?

A
  1. Testes secrete testosterone = Wolffian duct (forms vas defernes)
    Leydig cells secrete testosterone, this causes wolffian duct to develop, Testosterone converts to DHT in penis, scrotum and prostate causing development
  2. Sertoli cells secrete Müllerian-inhibiting substance = degeneration of müllerian tube

What does the absence of SRY protein cause?

  1. Testosterone absence results in degeneration wolffian duct
  2. Müllerian duct forms the uterine duct, it fuses forming the uterus
