Basting stitch
An even stitch for temporary use.
Running stitch
An even stitch used to join two layers together and is meant to be permanent.
Whipstitch
A sturdy and visible stitch which is usually used for hemming or sewing seams.
Back stitch
It creates a very strong seam. It’s used on dnse fabric.
Slip stitch
A hidden stitch used to join two layers together
Blind hem stitch
Like a slip stitch. Used for hemming.
Fell stitch
Attaches a raw Or folded edge to a garment
Catch stitch
A row of X’s on the wrong side of a garment and two lines of straight stitches on the right side
Sew through buttons
Usually flat with two or four holes that lie on the garment.
Shank buttons
Have heir own shanks on the underside.
